In the Pines Studio presents a monthly film series in partnership with CREATE Portage County, screening classic and indie cinema. Join filmmaker Matthew A. Brown and actress Winter Williams in their studio's dark, vintage setting, and experience an eclectic mix of iconic studio films made before 1930 and thought-provoking independent cinema.
This month’s indie film is one of their own, and is the project where Winter and Matthew met. JULIA was released in AMC theaters in 2015 after selling to over 30 international territories and winning multiple awards including BEST FILM and BEST ACTRESS at some of the worlds leading genre Film Festivals.
After the screening Winter will be interviewing Matthew A. Brown (writer/director/producer of the film, and husband and father to their two boys!). This was Matthews first feature film after a string of successful shorts, including My Fathers Garden which premiered at The Venice International Film Festival, and CRUSH which qualified for the Academy Awards in 2012.
They will both be open to questions afterward and Matthew will also be announcing a new feature film project, to be set in Wisconsin, that could involve YOU.
Please Note: Cinema in the Pines is now a members only club. By signing up for a free membership, you will be able to RSVP and be put on their private mailing list with information regarding all upcoming screenings, classes, workshops and gatherings. Please sign up on on their website.
