The 48-Hour Film Fest is an opportunity for local filmmakers of all levels to put their skills to work! You and your team will make a film over the course of just one weekend and have it screened before an audience at the IDEA Center theater.

To add to the fun, there are elements of the film—the genera, a line of dialogue, maybe a prop or character—that you won't know about until right before the timer starts counting down!

Step 1: Bring your team together! Teams of 5 people or less are $10 a person, teams of 5+ are $50. (Week-of registration is $15 per person or $75 for teams of 5 or more).

Purchase for teams here.

Step 2: Before the project you may want to recruit your cast and crew and scout some interesting filming locations to prepare for the weekend.

We will email your team captain a team packet with further details on the event when you register.

Friday Evening Kickoff Meet-Up

At the kickoff you will receive the specific details for your film including the genre, dialogue, characters, etc. These elements must appear in all films.

After that, you're free to start writing, filming, and editing!

Sunday Evening screening and Judging

All films will be screened 48 hours later on Sunday evening at the IDEA Center in front of a live audience. Get tickets for the screening here.

Films must be dropped off by 5 PM to be eligible for any awards.
